Patchwork & Quilting Class- includes fabric! Saturday 12th February 2022- 9am to 4pm
Have you seen the beautiful quilts hanging on the walls in our shop and thought “I’d love to make that!” ? Are you wanting to make some lovely quilts for your beds and couches, friends and family but don’t know where to start?
This class is designed for participants who can sew with their sewing machine already and want to learn the art of patchwork quilting using our pre-cut jelly roll & layer cake fabrics. - additional $15 for for Kaffe Fasset precuts
In this class, Jane will guide you through selecting the design for your quilt, precision cutting techniques using a quilting ruler & rotary cutter, preparing your fabrics and the best practises for arranging & sewing up the fabrics on your quilt.
This is a full day class with a break for lunch (morning tea is included).
What you need to bring
- Your sewing machine, including
- Any other accessories that came with the machine, foot pedal, power cord
- Sewing Machine Needles (universal)
- Thread (for quilting, we recommend 1000m Rasant Thread, you can purchase some thread to match when you choose your fabrics)
- Pins or fabric clips
- 2B pencil, or similar
- School ruler
- Fabric Scissors and/or snips
- Seam ripper / quick unpick
- If you have your own rotary cutter, you may like to bring it, but this is not essential
Your Jelly Roll or Layer Cake fabrics are included with the class fee. You can choose your jelly roll or layer cake once your class has been booked in, or you can choose with Jane's guidance on the day, to help choose fabrics that will suit the design you choose, who the quilt is for or where it will spend most of its time in the house. If you have chosen the Kaffe Fassett Waterfall Quilt, your Kaffe Fassett fat 1/4 pack is included in the price. These are a set pack.
We also offer a 10% discount for any additional fabrics or notions you are purchasing on the day of the class.
PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR AVAILABILITY WHEN BOOKING CLASSES IN ADVANCE. Our classes often fill up months in advance and have a long waiting list. We ask that you are considerate of others and not book in for a class where your availability is likely to change close to the date.
We are not able to refund any class booking fees or swap dates around once booked. If you have extenuating circumstances that affect your availability for the class, we require 7 days notice in advance, and your class fee will be transferred to a gift voucher of the same value. Any class cancellations within 7 days of the class date will not be eligible for a voucher and the amount will be forfeited.
